Profile Die Engineering
"Boot Camp"
Date and Location TBA

The Compuplast® Profile Die Engineering Boot Camp™ is a
one-of-a-kind, hands-on, intensive training program on profile die design and
engineering. Participants are taught how to use specialized Compuplast® Software
and the Cross Flow Minimization Method™ to design and optimize profile extrusion
dies faster and more efficiently than ever before.
Compuplast has developed the first, commercially available,
systematic, profile extrusion die design and engineering procedure in the world.
Finally, there is an engineering approach that helps eliminate much of the
“guess work” that is commonly associate with profile die design allowing for
faster and more efficient die development.
The procedure is based the Compuplast® Cross Flow
Minimization Method™ (CFMM™) that has been proven effective on many hundreds of
profile dies, worldwide, over the past 20 years. Compuplast has also developed a
special software package that makes it very easy to apply the CFMM™ towards a
fast and efficient die design methodology. The method virtually guarantees at
least a 50% reduction in the development time required for dies to produce
complex profiles when compared to the traditional trial-and-error methods.
Stop Guessing and Start Simulating!™
Now, Compuplast is offering a special promotion that every
profile die designer or custom extrusion shop manager will want to seriously
consider. Participants
will be taught how to use the Compuplast® software to simulate the flow within a
profile die
and how to optimize the design of the flow channels using the CFMM™. After
completing the training, each participant will also be provided with a short
term, trial license of the software so that they can immediately apply what they
have learned at their workplace.
Key Benefits:
Shorter die design time, Less (re)machining time, Less polymer scrap, Less scrap
metal plates, Faster line speeds
Prerequisites:
Participants must have at least 3 years of computer experience on Windows XP.
Some CAD experience will be beneficial but not necessary. Some knowledge of
materials may also be beneficial but it is not required as this training program
will teach the necessary material properties required for simulation. No prior
die design experience is necessary.
Cost:
The cost for this training is US$3,900 per person which, includes all training
material, computer rentals and a special 3 month trial license of the
Compuplast® software. This payment is typically recovered from savings in
development time and material on the first die that you design with this method.
Company's that already have a license for the Compuplast®
VEL™ 6.2 Profile Die Module, may participate
for the reduced rate of US$1,500 per person.
Location:

Classroom space is very limited to ensure maximum benefit to the
participants.
